the love series
This series was inspired by thinking of the different people we love and the way they share or protect their heart. I tried to express symbolically the way that we love and wrote a poem to go with each.
Free To Fly
The beautiful winged specimen has come to roost for a while. It is beloved, placed on a pedestal, adored...held in place by the chains of commitment. The chains have been broken . Will it follow its true nature and fly away or will it choose to stay?

This love burns slow and steady, long enough to last a lifetime. Its flame lights the way through the dark times . It shines as a symbol of unity to lead the way.

Manifest Destiny
The vast continent of the heart...lush, green, and unspoiled..until the settlers came in search of love. They worked the land, mined it for its ore, cut down the trees and claimed it for themselves. A wall was built upon which some have left their mark but none have gained access to the remaining untouched land. She...the one...has found the key and slowly turns the lock. Together they will reclaim the land and sow the seeds of a new future

"The Heartist"is based off of a painting by Salvador Dali titled "Autumn Cannibalism". I wanted to pay tribute to this insanely talented artist while expressing how the heart of the artist must sometimes consume itself in the search for inspiration and meaning.
